Mark Watson-Mitchell - 22.07.2026

Even at my age I am still being told that I am too early.

Just over three weeks ago, on Monday 6th July, I called the market higher.

Then it was just 253 points away from hitting a new All-Time High.

Standing at 10681.78 it was, in my view, just a fraction away to that 10,934.90 that was scored at the end of February this year.

I did conclude my article by stating that Donald throwing a wobbly could throw its progress off course.

And he did - with the FTSE100 Index easing back to a July Low of 10397.50.

The fear that Ed Miliband could have ended up as our new Chancellor of the Exchequer became very evident.

The fact that Healey was appointed by Burnham could well have helped the swift advance over the last couple of days, with the FTSE hitting 10733.78, just thirty minutes ago.

We are now just over 200 points away from scoring the New High.

I now ask - is it going to happen?

My gut feeling is that we are only days away from that new score so hold tight.

Just 200 points away from a New High
Just 200 points away from a New High
