Kemi Badenoch is now calling for laws on Net Zero to be abolished – about time for some sanity of purpose!
Ed Miliband’s windfarms have been creating more power than we can handle in its delivery across the energy systems, meaning that payments have to be made for the excess – what a total nonsense!
What is more we are importing more of our energy requirements than ever before, from Europe and some of it directly or indirectly from Russia.
Our Government is now desperately needing the tax payments that used to flow in from the developing of our own resources both onshore and from the North Sea – a very big minus point on the UK Balance Sheet.
Now we see forecasts that the price of oil is forecast to fall to a five-year low, with suggestions that Brent Crude, now at around $66 a barrel, will ease to around the $55 levels.
I have an idea for Rachel from Accounts that may well be a lot less painful as a tax measure than some of her ideas currently being assessed.
How about increasing the tax on a litre of fuel being increased from 52.95p to 65p a litre?
That could boost the Tax Coffers by another £5bn in the process.

And what is more – although the cost of such a tax rise would hit everyone – it could be enforced at a time when lower fuel prices will be seen on the forecourts.
